The American Academy of Family Physicians (or whatever it is called if I
have that wrong)has made a big push to support and protect breastfeeding.
I have an excellent paper in my locker at work put out by them. I had
copied it to give each of our pediatricians a copy.

Like in any medical specialty, there are going to be docs who do and docs
who don't. If the FP doc that was mentioned is old and nearing retirement,
he isn't going to change anyway, even in the face of valid studies.

Educating his patients and supporting their choices to breastfeed is all
that can be done.
