what is a "collodian baby"? i must confess i haven't heard this description
before.

i beg to point out, however, that if this baby won't swallow, it is extremely
dangerous to putting anything in her mouth, no matter if it is with a
haberman or a breast. how is she being fed right now? and what is a "fish
mouth" - sounds like a useful phrase to describe what i think it describes.
esther, tell us more.

also, if "all the evidence" (i am thinking of paula meier's work, among
others) states that it is easier for a baby to breastfeed than to bottlefeed,
then why is it that the first thing someone tries with a baby who "can't" or
"won't" breastfeed is to stick a bottle in their mouth? how about figuring
out why they won't breastfeed?
