Kathleen,
Thank you for your thoughful, loving comments on weaning. When my older
children weaned I was already looking ahead to a New Beginning, but with the
last child it's harder to see where that New beginning will take you.
Weaning is a rite of passage to a new stage in the relationship of a mother
and child. It is both joyful and tinged with sadness. As when your child
first goes to school, you are filled with pride while aching a little inside
for the loss of your intimate time together. This is how it is supposed to
be.
Thanks,
Lesley Robinson.
