Just wanted to add my $0.02. After we heard about using cabbage, My then 13
y/o daughter got a horrible sunburn on her face. Blisters and swelling sooo
bad you could not see her nose. I was afraid to put anything on it and risk
breaking the blisters and leading to scarring. We chilled a bunch of cabbage
and packed her face for an entire day. The next day. NO swelling, NO
blisters and she did not even peel. I have used it on broken legs, sprains,
scrapes, and rashes. We found references to the indians using skunk cabbage
for all of these things. The doctors in our hospital thought it was
wonderful, even had us right protocols for cabbage use. Then we had several
moms break out in a group b strep type boil infection on their breast. One
of them swore it was because of the cabbage, the docs made us quit using
cabbage. So now the hospital can't tell moms to use cabbage. I firmly
believe in its use.
