My son took Gabapentin for several months (at age 9-10).  He was taking it
for a mood disorder at the same time my mother was taking it for chronic
pain.  He was taking three times the dose she was.  We did a major
medication switch recently and he is no longer taking it.  It was tapered to
stop and although he is obviously not a nursing infant, he had no noticeable
side effects (other than improved mood stability).
