In a case such as this, or with a tongue "buncher" I have had good results
with using mom's pinky finger to "stroke the tongue" with the suck and
encourage baby to bring it down right before a feeding. I've also used an
upside down NUK pacifier in the same manner. Try carrying baby with their
tummy on the forearm, face near your elbow (kind of like a "lion in a tree")
for a while, too. Brings the tongue down and forward. Maybe a quick talk with
a Speech Language pathologist or PT might give us some tips? I'm sure we have
some on this list.
