I am the RN, CLC who had Yaffa's Lactation Consultant position before
her. I want to say publicly that Yaffa won't have any difficulty with
the doctors, nurses and patients in the hospital knowing that she is a
"professional". Her attitude, appearance and knowledge base
demonstrate that loud and clear. As Yaffa now knows, the nurse in
question developed the lactation position and was the supervisor of the
first lactation consultant in the position. That was changed when I
took the position. The nurse feels as if she owns the program and
would still like to be in control. She is a good nurse and will
probably be more comfortable down the line, but is having some
difficulty envisioning a non-nurse fulfulling the role. Time and
patience will serve Yaffa well. I know she will do a good job.
