I have a question about Metformin being used as a galactogogue. I understand it is used pre pregnancy in PCOS and in diabetics. I know increasing a milk supply is not the drugs purpose but a beneficial side effect for breastfeeding mothers. Does anyone have any experience or data along this idea. I have a mother that has been taking 80 mg of Domperidone daily and it initially increased her supply of milk for her 4 month old daughter to where she did not have to supplement with formula any longer. Now after a month her milk supply has dwindled again. This mother is very tiny and struggles with an adequate diet. Any ideas would be helpful.
