We could really use the collected wisdom and experience of Lactnetters on
this one.  Real nice mom with real difficult problem.  She's about at the end
of her rope.  Here's the scoop:

Mom experienced an excess of amniotic fluid during the pregnancy with  no
apparent complications resulting.  She had a similar problem (excess amniotic
fluid) with her first pregnancy; 1st baby was bfed, grew/progressed normally.
 2nd baby born by c-section; average weight, normal APGARs, etc.  History of
allergies in the family.  !st week postpartum baby developed green stools and
vomiting.  Vomitting mistaken for reflux.  Tests have since eliminated reflux
as a possibility.  Green stools have continued now for 12 weeks.  Blood in
stools began at 2 weeks postpartum.  With elimination of wheat and dairy from
mom's diet the blood disappeared, but the diarrhea remained.

Baby is seeing a pediatric gastroenterologist, who is running any tests he
feels necessary.  All tests negative thus far. Reintroduction of wheat in the
maternal diet caused severely bloody stools.  Weight gain is slow - 12
oz-16oz per month.  Head circumference and length are normal.  Motor skills
developing normally.  Baby appears to be developing normally except for what
I've mentioned here.  Mother has been eating only fruits and vegetables for
the past seven days, resulting in improvement on the blood in stools and
total elimination of the throwing up.  Diarrhea has remained, is now a little
thicker in consistency but no other signs of improvement on the diarrhea.
 Mother cannot maintain this diet!  Please help!
