I'm not sure anyone's talked about what we actually *learned* at the ILCA
conference.  I learned:

*that Catherine Watson Genna and Linda Pohl don't get saddle sore when they
ride in the surf;
*that Winnie Mading and Miriam Labbok can both break boards with their bare
hands;
*that James Akre has red shorts;
*that Doraine Bailey dances a mean Macarena, Pat Gima dances a cool cha cha,
and Diana from Puerto Rico does a really impressive Spanish whatever;
*that Lisa Marasco is a born body surfer;
*that Acapulco sometimes has earthquakes but you don't always notice them;
*that if you use your phrase book to ask a question in Spanish, you have to
be prepared for them to answer in Spanish;
*that lactnetters are inveterate note passers;
*that Ros Escott has access to one of the coolest bfing commercials ever;
*and that there's a rooster that crows in Mexico City at 4:40 am.

I also learned that there are at least 2 doctors in the US who have at
least10 years' experience repairing cleft palates within the first month of
life so their patients can go on to feed and babble normally... so what's
taking the rest so long?

ILCA conferences: ya gotta love 'em!
