Hi all! Can I make a suggestion? Given that we have such a broad range of
experience on here with 75+ (!) wonderful breastfeeding advocates that includes
lay counselors, IBCLCs, RNs, MDs, etc., and now from at least 5 countries, can
we either eliminate all but the basic abbreviations (leaving perhaps little more
than "bf" for breastfeed(ing))? As an IBCLC coming from a LLL Leader/public
school teacher rather than the medical route, some of the medical abbreviations
that get used make reading more complicated--and I suspect that some of them are
country dependent and may not even be recognized in some countries! Perhaps
there are some we could come up with as a standard list that could be repeated
periodically or included with the introductory note? How about "if in doubt,
spell it out" as a motto to enhance communication?

Thanks!
