I heard from Chris just before the ILCA Conference and am just now digging
my way out of all of the mail and re-entry challenges. I'll send a few
snippets of her post. She'd probably like a compassionate post from anyone
who feels so inclined.

Milwaukee

Pat: Life has been, well, let's say less than ideal... Anyway, my
incision took 8 weeks to heal and now I need to have another surgery
because the fascia has a 4
inche tear. Until this is repaired, I'm not supposed to lift anything
heavier than 10 lbs (Wesley is now 15lbs and my 3 year old is 30 lbs). My
insurance company (an HMO) is trying to put one over on me by saying that
it's fine for a general surgeon to do the job even though the gen. surgeon
and the plastic surgeon agree that it's major reconstruction only to be
done by the plastic surgeon.... My DH had to go to Germany for work when I
was 5 weeks post partum. His job requires a fair amount of travel and he
had put off this trip for 2 months.

I'm beginning to feel like life will never be "normal" again.
Fortunately, Wesley is the easiest baby of the 3 I've had. At 12 weeks
now, he is quite a jabber jaw and has such a pleasant disposition. I'm
thoroughly enjoying him in between the fights with the 3 year old trying to
kill him with love and affection. Ahh the trials of motherhood.

Chris
