In the food section of a major New York City newspaper:

"Chefs staggered by the Foie Gras Crisis of '98:

The foie gras binge that has consumed the restaurant world for months now
has finally gone and done it. Suddenly there is a severe shortage
(granted we are not talking about baby formula here, or even gasoline,
but this is a restaurant story, you know)...."

Only a dedicated lactnut like myself would notice this, be BOTHERED by it
and take the trouble to share it with 1700 other like minded folks.
It isn't easy being a zealot.
