I was wondering if there was any information regarding the following
situation. New Mom, about 2 weeks post partum, will be having a laser procedure to
break up kidney stones. Her urologist told her that she would have to stop
breastfeeding because there could be transient bacteria in her bloodstream resulting
from the procedure. When asked to cite studies, he could not, saying that he
only knows this 'from experience.'Family would like more information, because
Mom does not want to stop breastfeeding! She is willing to pump and dump if
necessary for a reasonable amount of time if there is literature recommending to
do so. This is all the information I have. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated! Thank you! You can reply to me directly or post. Ann from New
Paltz, N.Y.
