I got a giggle out of the recent post from the baby LC fed bacon & eggs as an
infant.

My mother kept a similar log of my feedings, but I was a b/f baby (more or
less). I was almost 2 months premie 3.7#, so I was in hospital for 6 weeks
(very lucky to have been born in Boston, this techmological mecca). My mom
pumped & dumped w/ a "bicycle horn" pump for this 6 weeks because b/m was
thought to be "bad" for premies. For this, I think she deserves the b/f
medal of honor. Once home, my dad, having read some early studies on
benefits of b/m, promptly dumped the free case of formula down the drain, so,
in my mom's words she "had no choice". Amazingly, I went to the breast, a
zealot from word "Go". I cherish those pictures my dad took of our first
b/fs. Mom alternated b/f & ABM in bottle because she had so much trouble
stretching feedings out to 3, much less 4 hours. Cereal was added as soon as
I came home. Mom weaned at 6 months when I bit her. She says she wishes she
had me to call for help.
