Dear Karen,
I read your post with interest.  When I delivered my 2nd child in 1972,
I went home 6 hrs postpartum.   This was very weird to the staff & the
nurse was worried about me leaving so early.  She encouraged the OB to
give me an extra dose of pitocin before I left.  I had dreadful
engorgement (not present with baby 1 or 3)  & a very active MER.  That
child gained more weight more quickly than baby one or three.
Interesting.
