Dear Lisa,

I think that the point that Sara was trying to make was that she sees parents who choose not to immunize, but then also choose not to breastfeed and is mystified by this. I have seen this as well and am speechless when a couple spends an enormous amount of time researching and preparing for a natural birth and then "natural" parenting, but then does not consider breastfeeding to be a part of that whole scenerio. Not saying that this is the norm, but it does happen. Of course, there may be hidden things going on, but one case of mine in particular that comes to mind, they just didn't get it at all - it was so frustrating.

Warmly,
Sharon Knorr, BSMT, ASCP, IBCLC
