Hi All,
Carol B. says:
don't encourage this mother to self-medicate with ibuprofen, because long term
use of high doses should be accompanied with regular testing to make sure
there is no impairment of functioning of other systems.
What do you consider a high dose? I have been using ibuprofin long term (5+
years) for muscle spasms, severe pain and have had no problems. I have been
accustomed to taking 600mg 4 times a day for months on end, then after
relief from massage therapy, down to 600mg whenever needed (couple times a
week). All of this while sometimes under Drs orders, sometimes on MY
orders, all during pregnancy and BF. I have had no problems at all. 400mg
does nothing and acetominophin is a joke. So what is a high dose?
