TV alert:

My hospital is one of 3-4 hospitals featured on a 10 hour marathon program
called Birth Day Live! It will be aired from 2:00pm to 12:00am Mountain
Standard Time in the USA, Monday, Feb 17, 2003, on the Discovery Health
Channel. This is NOT the regular Discovery Channel. Check your local
listings. For those with QwestTV in Arizona, it's channel 40.

This is the first of a series of Birth Day Live! shows on Discovery Health.
Its main sponsor is the March of Dimes, a non-profit currently campaigning
against birth defects.

Last month, a great many of us were called in to make recorded interviews.
I was one of them. It focused solely on how I feel about my job and about
the moms & babies I work with. Maybe, just maybe, I'll get my 5 seconds of
fame sometime during this 10 hour program.

They will be in our L&D unit with cameras all day, ready to broadcast
deliveries of all kinds, cesareans, medicated, natural, preemies, high risk
& normal newborns. It's an official holiday in the US (Presidents' Day),
one that we LCs (in my hospital) normally can get off from work. But one of
my coworkers, Judy Goodall, DTR, IBCLC, will be working that day anyway.
It's possible, maybe, she may be called in to help with a first breastfeed
on camera.

I believe they will also be at Good Samaritan here in Phoenix, AZ, but I
don't know what other hospitals will be included.
