I am working with a mother who will be 6 weeks postpartum and breastfeeding when she takes a week vacation to S. Africa with her husband (trip can not be delayed). I believe she will be in Cape town and visiting Kruger National Park. I have looked up information on the CDC's website for overseas travel and vaccinations. But, have questions about the Malaria vaccination specifically. The mother stated that her information says the Choloroquine is not effective for the area that she will be visiting and that some other Malaria medications are taken before the trip and others are taken after. Anyone have information that you would like to share on what is best? Also, anything else that this mother needs to consider? Baby and older child who was breastfed for 1 year will be staying home, mom will be double pumping and dumping.

Thank you in advance,
