Denise, I have no insights to offer wrt this mom's nipple pain.  A couple of
thoughts wrt the 4 hour schedule--if this mom is doing Babywise/Prep (and
being religious she is extremely vulnerable to this) you might ascertain
this and then gently let her know that apparently God has changed His mind
and it is now acceptable to feed every 2.5-3 hours per 1998 BW and Prep.  If
she is following a 4 hour schedule, she is using an older version
(1990-1995).  Of course, this new "Revelation" is no consolation to the many
mothers and babies who have suffered from the Ezzos' 'ministry,' but I won't
go there this morning.  The phenomenon I have personally seen with Prep
mothers is a high incidence of mastitis leading to early weaning because of
the schedule intervals.

Then again, I understand Australian and NZ mums are blessed with bountiful
supplies despite scheduling, so I could be mistaken;-)
