It strikes me as MORE than a bit odd that the "perpetrator" of this CPSC
campaign about putting children in adult beds, is the Juvenile Products
Manufacturing Association - in other words - makers of cribs.

The CPSC and the media at large have been used blatantly to serve one
organizations agenda. If anyone wants to contact these folks here are the
names and contact numbers associated with this particular campaign.

CPSC Consumer Hotline: (800) 638-2772
CPSC Media Contact: Nychelle Fleming, (301) 504-0580 Ext. 1192
JPMA Media Contact: Jennifer Szwalek, (856) 638-0420

The title of thie press release is as follows
"CPSC, JPMA Launch Campaign About the Hidden Hazards of Placing Babies in
Adult Beds"

and a copy of it can be found at:
http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml02/02153.html

The release does not cite the incidence of alcohol or drug abuse by
parents, nor does it take into account the possible lack of parental
supervision in these cases. Also they do not state what can be done to
mitigate the causes (IE: remove soft pillows and blankets) but instead says
that babies should sleep only in cribs. Go figure.

More mis-information and slanted reporting designed to further hinder
effective and restful breastfeeding at night in my opinion.
