Aloha,

I saw the PBS program as well. I missed the beginning, so I don't know
what was said in regards to mothers passing immunity on to their
children.

My oldest brother contracted polio as a toddler. He was paralyzed for a
short time. Thank goodness, he did not suffer as other children did. He
regained his ability to walk. The only reminder of his ordeal is a
slight limp when he is tired.

Btw, my brother was the only one my mother breastfed---for about two
months---so maybe this is what helped him.

Aloha,
Gloria Thai Honolulu, Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu about 20 degrees
North of the Equator
