This from a friend.

She has had a baby, her third, a month ago. Has had children with high
palates before. This time, baby has a moderately high palate, and also puts
its tongue up to the roof of its mouth a lot. Suck seems fine upon exam.
Mother has been battling yeast, and is currently being treated, as is baby.
That is improving. Baby also had a sucking blister on lower lip, but with a
bit of pressure downwards on chin, that has resolved.

Problem: Mother 's nipple comes out white at the tip, and with a vertical
ridge that runs from 12 to 6 o'clock. Kind of like someone took their two
hands and pushed IN on the nipple from side to side. Pain is during feeding,
and is exquisitely painful, acc to mom. Latch is less painful. Mother is a
LLLeader, and is getting fairly depressed and stressed that she cannot get
bf to be pain-free.

Anyone ever seen a ridge that runs from 12-6 on nipples?
