I have searched in vain for evidence-based studies: have been told that such studies have not and will not be done because #1 they are too expensive (and there is no profit in the results), and #2 the researchers would have to rely on very subjective data for analysis. (Permission to post):
I asked Dr Bobbie Ghaheri, a Portland Oregon ENT that performs laser revision of tongue ties and himself has children with TT's, how he responds to fellow Medical Professionals when questioned about his advocacy for CST in many of his TT patients. He simply said "it works, that's all"
