Sorry, Kathy, didn't want to upset you. Those were not my pesonal words, but
from the person asking me. I absolutely agree with you, but in the woman's
perception the doctor ''forbids her to breastfeed'' and thus she asked a LLL
leader for help, who asked another leader, who asked me.

Thanks to all respponding. I will further the suggestions to inquire why dr
is concerned even with a hb of 11, if other conditions like infection or
other causes for anemia might be present that would require transfusion. But
most of all I will confirm the first answer I gave her that bloodtransfusion
is definitely not a contra-indication for breastfeeding.
