What is general opinion about the safety of sushi during lactation? My dear DIL will be breastfeeding and was told it was a no-no during pregnancy, but now her peers say it's ok during BF.
Using pickles for teething babies is probably not a good idea. An occasional one might be ok from a nutrition standpoint, but I would worry that a few front teeth may chomp off a large section that could choke a baby. Because it is pretty slimy a good pat on the back will probably dislodge it, but it may scare the baby about chunky food. Remember that Gerber teething biscuits are not a good choice either, as they tend to become bullet shaped as the child sucks and chews, and if sucked into the throat, they can lodge securely. Next to hot dogs they are one of the most frequent items babies choke on.
