   I also was saddened by the Dateline program featuring the female pilot who
felt strongly about breastfeeding her baby and that her career interfered
with that.  I was not surprised that the court found that a baby does not
have a constitutional right to be breastfed.  If they found otherwise, then
mothers everywhere would be denying their children their constitutional
rights.  What a mess!  Besides, the constitution apparently does not
guarantee a human infant, when it's at its most vulnerable (in the womb) even
the most basic right to life.  I feel a child's right to be breastfed comes
rather, from nature.  This requires more education from us, not a law.
   What saddened me about the program was the revelation that most women in
the military apparently also believe that loyalty to the military (their
career) should be top priority in their lives.  In the years of the working
man and stay-at-home mother,  is that not what we have always resented and
protested.  We are finally bringing men as a whole to the realization of how
important family should be in their lives and now women are falling for the
same lie.  I hate that breastfeeding and it's value was not the central focus
of this story but was seen as only an excuse, a "character flaw" of this
pilot.  I applaud this woman for maintaining (throughout the accusations and
muddying of the waters) that she was the only one with her priorities
straight.  That took commitment and guts.  Hats off!!
