Hello, fellow Lactnetters:

Some of you are aware of the work that I am doing on Lactation Management
and the tools I am developing for Lactation Consultants to use to help their
clientele identify personal barriers to continued breastfeeding. Many of
you have already contributed in various ways to these tools, and know about
the pilot study that is getting underway on this topic.

Anyway, as part of this process, I have developed a tool that is meant to be
used for follow up once a woman's barriers have been identified. Within
this tool are a series of questions that the LC uses to encourage
conversations between her and her client, and resources that she can suggest
to her client for further information and education to help the client
overcome a particular barrier. It is my intention to have this resource be
as thorough as possible, and that is why I am posting today.

There are a myriad of breastfeeding and lactation books 'out there', and
most of us have a number of them in our own personal libraries. I wonder if
any of us has them all? I would like my follow-up tool to include as many
as possible, for the simple fact that I do not want to unfairly represent
any one author or producer, and I want the LC who will use this tool in the
future to be able to suggest appropriate resources that they already have on
hand.

I myself cannot possibly reference on my own each and every book/resource
that has been published, that would take me months and cost a lot of money!
So, I would like to invite Authors, video Producers, and Website Owners to
ensure that their resource is included in my tools by referencing their
works for me and forwarding the information which I will cut and paste into
my follow up tool.

Alternatively, seeing as how most LC's/doctors/nurses, etc. who are also
authors are very busy people, if you just do not have the time for this, but
would like to ensure that your resources are included, you are welcome to
send me a copy of your work and I will have my co-researcher cross-reference
it for you.

If you are wanting to find out more about the pilot study, please visit
www.latchon.org <http://www.latchon.org/> and click on the link for the
project titled "Eliminating the Barriers".

If you would like to have your published work included in this project,
please email me directly through Lactnet or at [log in to unmask]
and I will send you a copy of the tools and give you more information on how
to ensure that your works are included.

I guess I need to include a disclaimer here: Currently I have no financial
interest here as this project is costing me out of pocket.but.I suppose that
the potential exists in the future for some sort of book to be published or
some sort of income to be made from the tools I am developing.or, maybe that
is just wishful thinking! ;~>

Blessings!
