There was an interesting article reviewed in the newest issue of AAP Grand
Rounds (a CME publication) about 4 African-American girls who used hair
products containing estrogen or human/bonvine placental constituents.  The
age when the product was stared ranged from 10-60 months; estriol
concentrations of the products were 16mg/dl to 20mg/dl.  The girls all
developed premature pubic hair and/or breast enlargement and advanced bone
age.

Now, since this product was applied topically and seemed to have an effect on
the development of premature sexual characteristics, then what about soy
formula, which is ingested?  To my knowledge there's no study published
looking at babies who ingested soy formula and the latter development of
premature sexual changes.

Makes you wonder . . .
