I had lasik surgery last October. Zoe was 8 months old and
breastfeeding very frequently. I was told by the MD that it was okay to
have the surgery as long as my periods had returned and were regular,
and that if they were, my eyes should be back to their normal state.
Breastfeeding was not an issue with them. It was refreshing not to have
the doctors and nurses freaking out about giving me medications because
I was breastfeeding. I can now see nearly perfectly, my eyes are
20/20 and 20/25. And, the center where I had the surgery done gives a
lifetime guarantee, so that if my eyes need an "enhancement" later on,
it is free of charge. So if my eyes change after Zoe weans, it isn't
that big a deal to me to just have them zapped again (its painless and
takes about 30 seconds per eye).
