First, infotainment is my excuse. I am on vacation and yes, my trusty
laptop came with me and I am keeping up with lactnet because I truly
enjoy it.

Second, I met a young woman today who suffers from many small pimple
like pockets of pus in hair follicle on her breasts. She is nursing a
toddler but worries about this. She occasionally has larger cystic
looking eruptions on her breasts. The general appearance of her breast
skin is pitted around the hair follicles, even when not infected. She
is large breasted and a bit obese. I am in Florida where she is a
native so she is in heat all the time. She swims often in her parent's
pool. She doesn't use a public pool or sauna. She has some facial acne
but it is not related to hair follicles as the breast eruptions seem to
be. She has had this condition for a long time but it seems to have
started during the course of this lactation. She says she does breast
self exam and has no lumps and has resumed GYN exams so gets checked by
her doctor for breast exams and pap smears annually.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is this pitting around the hair
follicles related to the orange skin type breast cancer?

I recommended she talk to her doctor about it and see a dermatologist
but I'm curious as I have seen similar (but less severe) eruptions on
other moms.
