Truly Judy, you were not the only one to notice it. I did chuckle as I put
it in the Globe. Perhaps Anne &/or Beth will let us know if there is an
inside story to this....

I love it when we get on my favorite soapboxes - that of technology &
birth.... I like the times the mom can't bf right after the baby was born
because the fam has to come visit in the DR, so baby just has to wait. How
about the formula company booklet that advises the mother to put the baby to
breast when he is crying because that's the best time - his mouth is wide
open? Generally breastmilk jaundice around here isn't diagnosed until the
baby is at least 36 hours old. That was when they were in 48 hours. Now
breastmilk jaundice has virtually disappeared. So has jaundice, for that
matter. That may be one of the good things behind early discharge - less
treatment of jaundice. The phototherapy people must be foaming at the
mouth!! :)

Good day, everyone! And have a nice weekend. We're back to cold here in
Chicago. It may possibly be the snowiest June on record. (There hasn't been
any yet, but there are days when I wonder if it is going to come. Yesterday
it crept up to 51 - the day before it had been 90!!)

Today is the last day of school. After 16 straight years, I will no longer
have a child in grade school. Is middle school as bad for boys as it is for
girls?
