see the April 99 issue of American baby, page 12. article entitled "smart
foods" it begins... while prenatal supplements help ensure both your own
health and baby's during pregnancy and breastfeeding, they usually lack two
nutrients, choline and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), a polyunsaturated fat,
that can help build baby's brain cells...then further in the article it
gives recommendations for pregnancy and lactation for choline
supplementation and then states...Bottle-fed newborns get the nutrient from
infant formulas. Baby also receives a good deal of DHA from you via the
placenta and breast milk-that is, if you eat right. and final sentence
reads: the body can also synthesize DHA from linoleic acid, a fat found in
canola oil, walnuts, and wheat germ, as well as infant formula. The article
was written by a dietician.

There is also an article further in called "feed me, mommy" which discusses
breast and bottle feeding.

And i do not think it is a coincidence that there is a question posed on
page 29"Will nursing ruin my breasts?" in larger print letters. turn to the
pages to get the answer and you see a woman in the shower with sagging
breasts (though i think they look in better shape than mine, they should
call me next time to model). she has her hand over her heart, and underneath
the caption reads: don't let your concerns over the shape of your breast
affect your desire to breastfeed (with the words "shape of" and "desire" in
larger font).American Baby seems to have a very strong anti breastfeeding
message in it each month.
