Becky,
I've seen insufficient glandular tissue on two patients in the last 2 years.
Both times they had small tubular shaped breasts with a larger than normal
space between the breasts. The nipples on both of these women were a little
bulbos in shape. Both times mom complained of NO breast changes in pregnancy
whatsoever. They both tried like the dickens to breastfeed exclusively, did
everything right to get off to a good start, had no sensations of the fullness
on the third to fourth day. Supplementation became necessary and both times an
SNS was used, and mom pumped with hospital grade pump. One went on to
breastfeed a few times a day as her twin girl loved the comfort, the boy
refused the breast after the first two weeks and she gave up the sns. The
other mom gave up entirely. The Mom of the twins was very affected
emotionally. Her plans were to exclusively BF her twins. She also got pregnant
with the twins by IVF.
