Ilene have you tried to call Dr. Lawrence's number for this?  I believe it
was Ruth Lawrence who stated that the high cholesterol in breast milk may have a
significance for future cholesterol levels when the baby becomes an adult.
Having the family look at their dietary habits is fine and with this mother
being a nutritionist, I am sure she would be good at this.  I would hate to see
the recommendation to wean or to start on cholesterol medications.
Let us know what you find out.
