Three and a half months ago I described a client with very large breasts
that yielded little more than drops of milk post-birth.  At our first test
weight, baby took .1 oz milk.  We never found a cause.  The mom has used an
SNS, done a lot of nursing, taken fenugreek, and pumped several times a
day.  At the most recent test weight, baby took 5 oz from her over the
course of an hour.  Mom then measured for a day and calculated 18 oz total
from her breasts.  She has once or twice pumped 3 oz at a sitting.

I think her story is a real testament to the effectiveness of regular
ongoing milk removal, even in the face of apparent lactation failure.  It
looks as if she just might get rid of the SNS before her baby starts solids
- and that's starting almost from scratch.

Hope this good news post makes up for my having added to the toddler names
thread after Kathleen called time out...
