Someone's comment on the list made me stop and consider the strange hypocrisy amongst care providers. There is this willingness to push the guilt button on parents when it comes to the decision whether or not to immunize their babies, because they believe so strongly in the ultimate health of their clients. But, even if they believe in the inherent health benefits of breast feeding (which I know many whom still challenge that belief) they don't see the ultimate good in strongly pushing for their moms to breast feed their babies. By the time we see these moms in the hospital, they've long ago decided how they planned to feed their new babies and so encouraging them to try nursing so late in the game feels much like beating the proverbial dead horse.
