LOL jan! on new year's eve i took the kids up to the ER where my husband
was working to visit & bring goodies to the staff. i had griffin in the
sling, as usual. the nursing supervisor was there and commented on how cute
he was, saying "look at that gerber baby!" i laughed and said "nope, not
this kid! we wouldn't come within a mile of that crap." her response was "oh
no, you're one of those 'leechy-leechy' people!" before i could respond to
that, another nurse said "oh, i knew this was a breastfed baby from the
first time i saw him. look how happy and healthy he is." to which the
supervisor replied "do you really think that has anything to do with it?"
(!!!!) i said "just tell yourself next time you're taking care of a child
with horrible allergies, asthma, diabetes, meningitis, cancer, or hear about
a baby who died from SIDS, 'boy, i wish this one had been breastfed.'" :)
