At this time, zoloft has a good safety profile and it usually the first
antidepressant recommended during breastfeeding. However, anyone can have a
side effect reaction to any drug, and it is not always going to be a common
side effect. I think, if the mother is pretty sure that nothing else was
different except the zoloft, that she should definitely try another drug,
and probably one that is not very similar to zoloft. Have her observe the
baby for any side effects with the new medicaiton, of course.
