I used it as a stepping stone in the fact that it counted for my 45
"blueprint specific" education hours to sit the exam.  

What I didn't like in the course is they lumped LLL Leaders, CLCs and IBCLCs
on the same "tier" of lactation help (they had a triangle on an overhead
that put it all in the same level) and I do not agree with this.  Since I am
now all three (LLLL, CLC and IBCLC, lol), I definitely think there is a
difference in level of knowledge!

Hi, I am going to be taking the course and exam for the CLC in a few
weeks...I will also be working towards my IBCLC as I have been since I began
working for WIC. I know it's not the same, and I plan on using the CLC
behind my name.  Will this be an issue?  I know that the CLC stands for
Certified Lactation "Counselor", and the IBCLC is IBCL "Consultant"  there
is a difference-I am clear on this.  I know several WIC staff that will be
earning their CLCs at the same time I am.  Is this a mistake?  I thought it
was a stepping stone to the IBCLC, I could be wrong.  Have a blessed
