For the first time, our breastfeeding bill has made it out of committee!
If you would like to write or e-mail to support the bill it is House Bill
#31. A brief synopsis is:

1) mom may breastfeed in any public or private location where she is
authorized to be
2) moms bfing an infant less than or equal to 12 mos. old may request a
postponement from jury duty
3) hospitals that have OB care shall give info. on where to get bfing
info., or make a bfing consultant available (does not specify type
of bfing consultant)
4) as of 1/1/00 OB Drs. shall inform pregnant pts. of prenatal prep. for
and postnatal benefits of bfing, and
5) Dept. of Health shall produce written info. on bfing and distribute info
to Drs. and hospitals upon request.

We did get positive press in the paper and on the t.v. for this bill.
