I doubt it, but it will still be worth trying. I've always learned to not only
look at the weight gain of this one day or even week, but to count back to birth
weight and than calculate how weight gain looks in the overall picture. It seems
obvious to me that this baby just took a spurt to gain what was lost in the
first place and he will likely settle down for a more balanced gain in the time
to come.
We had some years ago a kind of overflow of mothers calling us in different
states of panic after consulting with one paticular well baby outpatient clinic
doctor. She (dr) always blamed the breastfeeding: crying to much, sleeping to
much or not enough, fast grow, slow grow, it always was due to breastfeeding. We
than urged these mothers to complain about these statements to the clinics
administrators. It did have result: this dr was forbidden to give any more
infant and toddler feeding advices as long as she worked in that clinic (which
was not very long, because she retired shortly after).
