Hi all,
        I just wanted to thank everyone who posted their stories about
extended nursing and nursing older children in public... It has helped me
rethink where I'm at with my nearly three year old and his 11 month old brother.
        We had to have the three year old have an endoscopy looking at his
vocal chords today, not a pleasant thing to do to anyone, but especially a
kid that size... and as soon as they pulled the tube out I latched him on to
calm him and comfort him... I don't know how willing I would've been last
week to do this, I might have tried to put him off until they left or passed
him over to Daddy for comforting, but knowing I had all of you behind me, I
went for what my heart said was right and kudos to this doctor and his
resident and med student not even a blink from any of them!!
        Something must've been said to the office nurse however (like, don't
disturb them, they're nursing) as she very timidly came in to give us a note
and wouldn't make eye contact, saying, "oooh I know you're busy" "oh no, not
at all, come right in" I replied....

patting herself on the back and thinking, gee maybe you can teach old dogs....

ps, re:  funny things nursing toddlers say, mine asked me this morning to
switch sides (he's a big switcher,from slow weight gain days...) "okay, want
biiiiiiiggggg one now" I guess he's noticed I tend to be lopsided.... I
nearly laughed him off my lap!
