I appreciate Kathleen Huggins' post on Reglan use, and absolutely agree.  I actually took it for three weeks, in 1991, while waiting to get my then 6 MO daughter, Julia, out of foster care and finally placed in our home.  I became more and more depressed during that time.  When she wanted nothing to do with me, never mind my breasts, I dropped the Reglan.  I spent a week wishing I could give her to someone else, and feeling sorry for my three sons, for having me for a mother.  I wasn't functioning at all.  It started to subside after that, and I started to figure out how to get Julia to accept me, and eventually got her breastfeeding.


I'm just thankful I only took REglan for three weeks.  The two more severe cases I was involved with were where the moms had taken it for six months.  A doctor in Arizona, who will remain nameless, had kept assuring them that the effects were only temporary.  When they stopped taking it, their symptoms worsened.  One spent time in a hospital psych ward, on suicide watch.  Instead of breastfeeding her adopted baby, someone else was bottle feeding him, which certainly did nothing for their bond!  Both moms re
