I am working with a mother that is receiving banked milk for supplementation
of her infant. She has received milk from two different milk banks and each
had differing guidelines about usage. One milk bank stated to use the
defrosted milk within 24 hours (these are the guideline that I am familiar
with and that all the literature I can find seems to reference). The other
milk bank paperwork said to use the defrosted milk up within 48 hours. I am
familiar with the 24 hour guideline but had not heard of the 48 hour one.is
this new info (or outdated info?) The mother even check via a phone call
with the milk bank director of that particular milk bank who confirmed that
they state use within 48 hours after defrosting. Has anyone else heard of
the 48 hr guidelines??? I can't find supporting evidence on that number
anywhere.
