Hello Wise Women:

I have been working with a pre-adoptive mom.

She has been pumping for 7 weeks, and taking domperidone for about a month.
She started seeing milk about a week ago.

The baby she was matched with was born a few days ago. Right as my client
was getting ready to leave the hospital with the baby, birth mom decided
that adoption was not right for her. My client is heartbroken.

She is taking a break from pumping right now because it makes her too sad.
She may be able to go back to it at some point.

She wants to know about the domperidone: can she take a break and go back
to it when she is re-matched, or should she keep taking it? I think she
partly concerned about the cost.

Thank you for your thoughts. This is my first pre-adoptive client who
decided to go the domperidone route.

Molly
