From:D.Ferrell,IBCLC
I know 3 people personally who have recently received cranial manipulations
from an
osteopath in town. One is my LLL leader who went for her son's lack of
reflex/muscle
flexion. At 6 weeks old,the boy (full term at birth) would lay with arms and
legs flaccid,
and loose and never flexed as normal kids do.She knew via the Grapevine to
see this
Md. and vwalah! Instant flexion.

A second mom in our group recently visited same Md. for her fourth infant at
7 weeks
old as a last resort. Her baby never latched very strongly and had poor weight
gain/no
weight gain. She did suck training for 7 weeks until her appt. with cranial
maniplulations
(a 1 hour appt. at $175 which most insurance -so I'm told, covers ).No more
suck
training, strong suck in a day and rapid wt.gain.

A third mom I worked with who never latched appropriately since birth even
with
training (it was a difficult birth, long use of epidural, failure of descent
and C/S so
suctioning was most routinely done in these parts of the country). As a last
resort
she went to osteopath, said baby nursed well immediately afterwards but did
not
return to follow-ups due to several factors, one of which was distance, another
was
postpartum depression and insomnia.

Gotta Go,My 2 yr old is calling me/so is daddy
Best to all.
