I was just discussing this on another list and thought I would bring it here as it DOES pertain to lactation. How far would you personally and professionally go to distance yourself from formula?

My answer was this... I don't buy products made by Nestle (or other formula companies) or subsidiaries owned by their parent company, it's hard but I just don't, or I should say that I do all the I can to find a replacement or alternative (which there almost always is one). I don't shop at markets that continually ignore the code by advertising formula or putting it on sale, or for that matter putting it in a prominent place in their store. And I will NOT advertise in a magazine that accepts money from these businesses.

This came up recently because an ad co-op that I am in wants to advertise in a new magazine called Pregnancy. While I can see that it sounds like a cool publication, it takes money from Nestlé's and therefore I won't advertise there. I don't want my business in any way associated with such companies.

So... What do you all think? How far do you personally go to distance yourself?
