Winnie, Could it be simply scar tissue from a long-standing skin
infection
last time?

That was what I was trying to describe.  While the previous injury had
closed, the tissue may not have the same elasticity as tissue that
hadn't been compromised.  The nipple/areolar tissue elongates more than
any other tissue that I can think of-at least in such a focused area and
in such a short time.
